Brimley WI celebrated its 10th anniversary this month with a party for its members at the Community Centre, Bovey Tracey.

We toasted our group with a glass of wine, and enjoyed cheese and nibbles, along with a fantastic cake baked by Pauline Woodard, who was thanked by President Jill Tregoning.

Susan Potbury organised a fun bingo session with prizes. Lynn Russell brought along scrapbooks from the past 10 years for a trip down memory lane – we all looked as young as ever!

Sarah Calder took a group photo of the whole group, above, so we will have the chance to compare.

Every lady received a commemorative pen, and the meeting was concluded with singing ‘Jerusalem’.

Next month, we have our Soap Workshop Day to look forward to, and will have some hand made soap to take home, and maybe ideas for presents. There is also a day’s shopping trip arranged to Clark’s Village where we hope to pick up some bargains.

On December 4 we have our Christmas Bazaar in the Methodist hall, where we will be selling beautiful handmade gifts and decorations, as well as home made cakes and preserves.

As it is on the day of the switching on of Bovey lights, we will also have a stall selling our produce on Fore Street.

Brimley WI is a thriving WI group, and we look forward to the next 10 years!
