PLANS for a new solar array of more than 20 panels atop Dawlish’s town council offices have been approved.
Submitted by Dawlish Town Council, the application - reference 26/00302/LBC - sought to obtain Listed Building Consent (LBC) for solar panels on the roof of the Manor House.
The home of the town council, the Manor House is Grade II listed, hence the need for LBC.
And Teignbridge Council have granted permission.
‘The works hereby permitted shall begin before the expiry of three years from the date of this permission’, the council said.
The 26 solar panels will be mounted in the roof valley and cannot be seen from the ground.
The design and heritage statement for 26/00302/LBC says: ‘The solar panels will directly supply the electricity demand for the Town Council building, thereby further reducing reliance on fossil fuels’.
