TACKLING the escalating cost of living will be the subject of a free event at Heathfield Community Centre.
Experts will be on hand from 11am to 12.30pm on Saturday November 22 with tips and advice about how to make every penny count and maximising household incomes.
Set to take part are Teignbridge CVS, South West Water, Teignbridge District Council, THAT Foodbank, Citizens Advice Teignbridge, Teign Housing and others.
A member of the local police team is expected to attend to take questions and offer advice,
Free refreshments will be available.
Also stepping up will be Bovey Tracey Town Council whose members, Cllr Lisa Robillard Webb and Cllr Hannah Mills-Brown, have helped to arrange the day.
‘We’ll have advice for anyone who wants or needs it,’ said Cllr Robillard Webb.
‘Whether you’re looking to lower the cost of heating your home, improve your sense of wellbeing or even if you have questions about friends or family welfare, our experts will be here to help.
‘There’s no need to book, just come along when you’re ready, and we’ll guarantee a warm welcome.’
Cllr Mills-Brown said: ‘So many people are struggling right now and at the very least we can promise that you don’t have to face the future alone, there are people and organisations who have your back and want to provide answers.’
‘We know that on occasions people are too proud to ask for help or advice so we’ve taken that first barrier away by arranging this Cost of Living Event.
‘There’s absolutely nothing to lose by popping in and, potentially, much to be gained.
‘As a local resident myself I can say, hand on heart, that this is the community looking after its own.
‘We look forward to welcoming everyone and, hopefully, to seeing them leave again armed with advice and information to make life better.’
Heathfield Community Centre is in Cannon Road and has a free car park.
