AN ARTS centre is opening its doors – and walls – to all budding artists this week.

The Bovey Tracey Paradiso is staging its first Christmas exhibition, and is inviting everyone to submit a piece of art for consideration.

A spokesman said: ‘We’re excited to announce we’re hosting our first ever Christmas exhibition between today (December 15) and January 8, Wednesdays to Saturdays.’

The exhibition will feature two different displays of art.

The spokesman explained: ‘the first is “Our Bovey”. In one of our spaces we are inviting you to create a piece, A5 size, or smaller, to do with our lovely town. This can be a painting, photograph, poem or drawing that portrays the town we live in. This will then be displayed in the gallery as a large collage, all ages are welcome!

‘The second is our “Christmas exhibition a call to artists!” You can bring in a piece of your art into the gallery, one per person, for submission.

‘All ages and artistic ability will be considered, so good luck!’

The artwork needs to be suitable for hanging, so will need to be framed (if a picture) with D rings or hooks. If you want to try to sell your artwork, you can discuss the gallery commission arrangements so you can determine the sale price.

The gallery will also have affordable prints, cards and gifts for sale

To submit an exhibit for consideration, drop your art into the gallery in Fore Street, Bovey Tracey, during their opening times, Wednesday to Saturday,10.30am-3.30pm. 

The gallery will be closed from December 25 to 28 and on New Year’s Day.
