A LOFT fire that broke out in a Plymouth property required multiple fire crews, including Buckfastleigh, to extinguish.
Fire control at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a possible fire on Bickham Road yesterday afternoon, Monday, August 20.
Upon arrival at around 3.30pm, smoke could be seen issuing from the roof space of a large domestic property.
Six pumping appliances, as well as special appliances, attended the scene.
In addition to Buckfastleigh, appliances were sent from Totnes, Camels Head, Crownhill, Greenbank, Plymstock and Ivybridge.
Crews worked through until 9pm tackling the fire, using eight breathing apparatus, two safety jets and two hose reel jets.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service say 30 per cent of the roof space was damaged by fire.
The cause is believed to be accidental, the fire service said.
