FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a grass fire in a field near Moretonhampstead on Saturday evening (August 1).
Fire Control received several emergency calls reporting the blaze shortly after 8pm, prompting appliances from Chagford and Moretonhampstead fire stations to attend.
Crews used beaters, Scotty packs, a hose reel jet and two thermal imaging cameras to bring the fire under control.
Once the flames had been extinguished, firefighters dampened down hotspots to prevent the fire from reigniting.
The incident affected an area of grassland measuring around 100 metres by 40 metres, along with around four metres of hedgerow.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
