FIREFIGHTERS in Moretonhampstead have raised more than £800 for a charity close to their hearts.

The crew from Moretonhampstead Fire Station raised money for The Fire Fighters Charity on Sunday, May 10, with their annual car wash.

And the crew managed to raise £881 for the charity, which offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire service.

A spokesperson for the station said: ‘The sun was shining and lots of cars were cleaned, a great effort was put in by the crew, with some help from some potential new recruits in a few years time.

‘We could not have done it without your support’.

Crew were on hand washing vehicles at the town’s station off Station Road from 10am.
