FIREFIGHTERS in Newton Abbot have raised more than £2,000 for a cause close to their hearts following a charity car wash.
The crew from Newton Abbot Fire Station raised money for The Firefighters Charity on Saturday, April 4, with their annual car wash.
This year, the crew raised £2,010 for the charity, which offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire service.
Crew were on hand at the town’s station off Balls Corner roundabout from 10am.
A spokesperson for the station said: ‘The crews worked tirelessly and relentless from start to finish.
‘We would like to thank everyone who attended.
‘All of the proceeds will be going directly to The Firefighters Charity who will continue to do their work to support firefighters and their families during anytime of need.
‘Without their work, we couldn't do ours, and without your donations the charity would cease to exist’.
The crew of Newton Abbot Fire Station has also expressed thank to Pizza Cafe, Kimmy’s food van and others who donated food
