FIREFIGHTERS from Bovey Tracey have rescued multiple drivers from floodwaters this morning, Tuesday, January 27, as severe weather warnings continue in the Devon area.
The crew were first mobilised to Teigngrace following reports of a vehicle stuck in floodwater.
The driver and passenger were successfully rescued, before the crew were alerted to more drivers stuck in floodwater at Clay Pits road.
A spokesperson for Bovey Tracey Fire Station said: ‘Our crew responded and were committed straight away into the water, which had left four cars and five persons stranded.
‘All were rescued and escorted to safety.
‘The Devon area is still under weather warnings and there are several roads under water.
‘Please do not travel unless absolutely essential and continue to check weather and traffic updates in your area.’
