A FARMERS Market selling local produce is to be launched at 11am on Friday, June 16, at the Strand Centre in Dawlish.

There will be a variety of stalls selling fresh local organic produce which will complement the offerings in the local shops and encourage more people to shop locally.

The Dawlish Farmers Market is a joint venture by Sustainable Dawlish and Paul Lentle of the Strand Centre and it is hoped that it will help the local economy as Dawlish, in common with many towns, has experienced difficult trading conditions in recent years.

David Bailey of Sustainable Dawlish said: 'Dawlish has lost many of its local traders in recent years so it is good that we will have a variety of local traders selling local, fresh produce.'
