ONE happy consequence of rising prices might be we are becoming a less throwaway society.

This has been shown by the increase in repair cafes around Teignbridge.

Bovey Tracey boasts such a one and last Saturday a team of fixers were on hand at the Methodiat Church Hall in Le Molay Littry Way.

Whether it was a bike or a laptop, a treasured handbag or alarm clock, there was someone there with the knowledge to breathe life into an old or broken article.

There was also the chance to have a cuppa and a slice of cake while the repairs took place.

The Bovey Tracey repair cafe meets on the third Saturday of each month and the next meeting is scheduled for August 20.
