MIDLANDS-based funny woman Karen Bayley is heading this month’s Teignmouth Comedy Club at the town’s Pavilions venue this coming Friday night .

Karen has been on the circuit for over a decade and made a name for herself early on in her career reaching the semi-final of the prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and was later crowned the winner of the 2001 Komedia New Act prize.

She followed this by becoming the first ever female winner of the prestigious Comedy Store King Gong award as well as reaching the finals of both the BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase and Babycham Funny Women.

Delightfully saucy, her friendly and confident stage presence, combined with a killer wit, an infectious giggle and some devastating one-liners make her a comedic force to be reckoned with a warm and welcoming with a delightfully saucy and spiky edge, her bold, no nonsense attitude strikes a perfect pitch with men and women alike.

Also featured on there bill are London stand-up comic Nik Coppin and Welsh funnyman Jethro Bradley.

Nik has performed all over the world and developed an international cult following, having performed many solo shows at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, all over Australia and the inaugural Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles.

As well as becoming one of the most consistent acts on the comedy circuit, his versatility has also made him a much sought after compere. He has the ability to adapt and play to a multitude of audiences and is skilful, observant and affable enough put them immediately at ease.

Back in 2016 Jethro was declared ‘Unsigned Welsh Act of the Year’ in a star-studded red carpet event held at Carmarthen bus terminus. Today it’s no surprise that he IS signed, at least to somebody, because we definitely spoke to somebody in charge when we booked him. You can expect deadpan absurdism, original observations and a brand of awkwardly confident physical comedy that has taken him to the comedy tent of all the UK’s major festivals… and to several shows on Radio 4.

The show, on Friday, January 13, is MC’d by Tom Glover and starts at 8pm. Tickets are priced at £12 in advance or £14 on the door.
