ONE of the key bands in the UK ska revival of the late ‘70s and ‘80s, The Beat are playing at Exeter’s Phoenix arts centre on Friday night (January 20).

Following the passing of their incredible frontman Ranking Roger, his son Ranking Jnr will be carrying on the legacy fronting the band.

They’ll be playing all their Two-Tone classics like “Mirror In The Bathroom” and “Too Nice To Talk To” and seeding-in some surprises too with the near-perfect balance of pop melodies and taut rhythms that made them stars and won them worldwide acclaim.

Tickets for the 7.30pm gig can be booked at https://exeterphoenix.org.uk.
