PART of a man's ear was bitten off in an attack in Newton Abbot and police have today issued an appeal for information

The incident happened at around 3am on Saturday, April 29, outside Bar 7 on Market Street and involved two men who were not known to one another.

Following an altercation, one of the men bit the top of the other man’s ear off resulting in it becoming detached.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital.

A 25-year-old man from Sidmouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and is currently on police bail until July 18.
