OVER the past few weeks our club members have been busy engaged in enrichment activities while raising money for the Dartmoor Rescue charity, writes Anneliese Retallick of Newton Abbot YFC.

Members have been preparing and performing our own drama performance titled ‘A murder mystery’, and members performed to the public at Rattery village hall in preparation to compete against other clubs’ drama performances across south dartmoor at Tor Bridge High in Plymouth.

Newton Abbot YFC came a respectable fourth place and most importantly, all members thoroughly enjoyed themselves with a special mention to Rob Whale (who played a policeman) who was nominated best actor on the day!

Alongside our busy entertainment season, Newton Abbot YFC have been partaking in pub sports competitions against other local clubs in order to qualify for the county competition in April. The club beat Ivybridge YFC at skittles and also played Skittles against Totnes.

We have many dates for club fundraisers upcoming including our charity big breakfast and our charity tractor run in which we hope to advertise soon.

Last week a few of our club members also attended the Devon YFC ski trip to the Three Valleys where a total of 80 members from across the county attended.

In true farming style the fancy dress theme for one of the days was cows. Safe to say there were no injuries!
