DEVON police caution drivers against unnecessary risks amid amber rain warning from Met Office due to Storm Chandra.

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for rain from 5pm today, January 26.

The Exeter-based forecasters says that flooding and disruption is likely.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: ‘Please use caution when travelling over the next 12 hours.

‘We have seen significant disruptions over our road networks, including the A30 dual carriageway over the last week, with many motorists finding themselves stranded in flood water.

‘We ask motorists to be careful and not to take any unnecessary risks.

‘Please continue to monitor weather apps for any further updates and visit Highways England and Devon County Council webpages or social media for any updates regarding road disruptions’.
