A DEVON entrepreneur debuts her memoir, inspired by her daughter Coraline, who was diagnosed with Down's syndrome at birth.

Liz Arriens-Troy’s memoir, Everybody Wants a Dance with Coraline, centres on her reflections across the first four years of Coraline's life.

Coraline, now eight-years-old, was diagnosed with Down's syndrome and two holes in her heart at birth.

As well as inspiring Liz to write, Coraline also sparked her father Kevin to begin formulating and handmaking an organic, natural, and vegan skincare range for people with dry, sensitive and breakout prone skin.

Founded in 2020, ‘Coraline Skincare’ products, available online and at the couple’s Topsham high street store, have won numerous awards.

From 10am to 4pm on Thursday, October 2, Liz will be at Coraline Skincare at 36 Fore Street for a book signing.

And from 7pm until 9pm, the author can be found at The Globe for the official launch.

The book launch coincides with the start of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, which runs throughout October.

The launch is a truly local affair, Liz having worked with the Big Ideas Collective’s Ned Hoste, who designed the cover and layout and guided her with his publishing expertise.

And the initial manuscript was proofread with great care and skill by Marcus Parry.

Everybody Wants a Dance with Coraline is available to purchase in-store and online from coralineskincare.com

It is the first book in a planned trilogy.
