TWO village groups have been helped by donations from the Rotary Club of Dartmoor Vale.

At The Cockhaven Arms, clients, their supporters and volunteers at the Bishopsteignton Memory Cafe said they were ‘amazed and delighted’ to receive an ‘incredibly generous donation’ of £1,000 from the Rotarians.

Nikki said: ‘This is amazing and will fund several day trips for our wonderful clients and their helpers.’

BELOW: At the same time, Bishopsteignton Scout Group received a donation of £557 and the cheque was presented to Sally Livett, Group Scout Leader and Elaine Cawthraw, chair of the trustees.

Sally said: ‘We are very grateful for the Rotary Club of Dartmoor Vale’s generous donation which will used to help financially support a Ukrainian family during their first year in our country.

‘We’ll also purchase a laptop and projector which will help our younger children in the Squirrel and Beaver sections who tend to be visual learners.

‘The laptop will also be used by our Leaders to complete their Scout Association online training and help with activities such as preparing older Scouts for their Duke of Edinburgh awards and online first aid training.’
