NEWTON Abbot has another defibrillator available to the community.
The life-saving device has put installed at Newton Abbot Fire Station.
It was made possible thanks to Torquay firefighter, Doug Gerring, who has been fundraising to bring defibrillators to stations across Torbay and Teignbridge.
‘We want everybody to have access to the best chance of survival!’ a spokesperson for Torquay Fire Station said.
‘Every minute that passes without a defibrillator can reduce the chance of survival by ten per-cent.
‘Unbelievably, a lot of schools and gyms still don’t have one’ the spokesperson added.
