MORE than 50 people gathered in Dawlish to mark four years since the full invasion of Ukraine.

Dawlish Town Council hosted a short service at the Manor House to honour the lives lost show solidarity with those who continue to endure hardship, and reflect on the importance of peace and unity during a very poignant service.

Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Anthony James gave an introduction before raising the Ukrainian flag and a moment of silence followed by a reading.

A town council spokesman said: ‘It was an opportunity for our community to show that we stand together in support of the Ukrainian people.’

Dawlish has hosted Ukrainian refugees since the start of the war.
