AFTER MONTHS in the planning, Dawlish Celebrates Carnival starts tomorrow.

The marquee is up on the Lawn and finishing touches are being made to the first day of the annual week of fun and games.

Tomorrow’s opening ceremony is at 10am.

A spokesman for Dawlish Celebrates Carnival committee said: ‘We can't wait to welcome you all.’

Dawlish Town Council has also wished the organisers and volunteers a ‘truly fantastic week’.

A council spokesman said: ‘Although the event is not organised by Dawlish Town Council, we are proud to have provided financial support through a grant to help make this year's week-long celebration another huge success for both locals and visitors alike.

‘A tremendous amount of hard work goes on behind the scenes to bring such a fantastic programme of events to our community, and we would like to thank everyone involved for their dedication and commitment.’
