A LENGTHY diversion awaits drivers living in and around Dartmoor as Monks Way is set to close for drainage work.

The A382 Monks Way will close from Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31.

The closure of a section of the road north of Bovey Tracey Golf Course is to allow Devon County Council to carry out essential improvements, including pipework and the installation of a new gully.

As such, a signed diversion will be put in place, taking drivers along the A30 toward Exeter and then back down towards Bovey Tracey via the A38 and vice versa.

‘These works are necessary to maintain the highway and reduce future flooding risk’, the council said.

‘Every effort will be made to complete the work quickly and minimise disruption’, the council added.
