AFTER days of falling, Covid cases in Teignbridge have risen again.

Between April 19 and 25 April, 598 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows an increase of 124.8% compared to the previous seven days, according to the latest Government figures.

During the same period there have been eight deaths in the district within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports there were 41 patients in hospital with coronavirus on April 19 with no patients on a mechanical ventilator.

Overall the number of tests conducted have been reducing since free testing was ended at the start of April.

Between April 18 and 24 there have been 7,417 tests in Teignbridge. This shows a decrease of -23% compared to the previous seven days.
