A BUCKFASTLEIGH man has been sent for trial on charges of assault and damaging a police van.
Ryan Gainard, 29, of Old Totnes Road, is accused of damaging the cage of a marked police van, valued at £200, on April 17, intending to destroy of damage the property and being reckless as to whether it would be destroyed or damaged.
He is further charged on the following day, April 18, or assaulting a man causing actual bodily harm at Torquay police station.
Magistrates sent him for trial to Exeter Crown Court on July 7.
He was granted condition bail.
