A NEWTON Abbot man who obstructed a police officer has been given a community order.

Colin Roger Carter (Liddicoat), aged 40, of The Churchills, admitted obstructing Constable Samuel Rees in the execution of his duty at Newton Abbot on December 23, 2021.

South and West Devon Magistrates' Court made the community order under which he must carry out 40 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. Carter must also pay £100 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £95 to fund victim services.
