NEWTON Abbot Fire Station has been mobilised to a major fire at a domestic property in Cornwood this morning, bringing the total number of fire stations attending the incident to twelve.

Fire crews were called to the property shortly after 5am on August 11, following reports of a domestic property on fire with the possibility of people still inside.

Three fire engines were initially sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews found the property well alight and requested a further three fire engines and a water bowser.

The fire subsequently spread to other buildings at the location, prompting a further four fire engines to be called in.

Newton Abbot and Buckfastleigh are now among the 12 stations to have been mobilised to the incident as crews continue efforts to bring the fire under control.

All people at the property have been accounted for, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has said.

Police and ambulance crews are also in attendance.

The incident is ongoing.
