It's art with a message - and it can be seen in Teignmouth today (Saturday).

Action on Climate in Teignbridge (ACT), in collaboration with artist Andrew Nicholson are planning to create a labyrinth on Teignmouth Beach in front of the lighthouse, to coincide with the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice.

Today, organisations from across the world will come together to raise awareness of climate change and to facilitate action. At the same time, world leaders will meet for the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

An ACT spokesman said: ‘People have been creating and walking labyrinths for centuries as a way of reflecting on their lives, drawing a line in the sand, moving on, and making a solid change for the better.

‘Over the last couple of years, hundreds of people of all ages and backgrounds have walked beach labyrinths, which is a new take on this ancient tradition.

‘Everyone is invited from between 12pm and 4:30pm for a walk to celebrate and reflect on their relationship with the environment.

‘It is also an opportunity to gain ideas on how to make positive changes towards living a more sustainable life, but most importantly it will be fun and enjoyable!’
