CANNABIS was found at a home and a man was arrested by police from Teignmouth and Dawlish.

A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis, possession of a controlled drug and using electricity without authority.

He was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

On their Facebook page Teignmouth and Dawlish police report: ‘We have acted on reports of a male who has been tampering with his electrics bypassing the meter.

‘There were also concerns that he was cultivating cannabis within the home address.

‘Through liaison with National Grid the tampering was confirmed and following arrest of the male suspect a search of the property was conducted in which a small cannabis grow was found.

‘Items were seized for destruction. The power was once again disconnected.’

The arrest was made overnight on October 4/5 and police have yet to release the location.
