MARIE Curie in Devon is calling on local people to volunteer just a few hours of their time this summer to support charity collection events across the county.

The charity is looking for friendly volunteers who enjoy chatting, being out in the community, or simply want to contribute to a meaningful cause.

Even a small amount of time can help raise vital funds to support people living with terminal illness.

The appeal comes as Marie Curie marks its 78th anniversary, having been founded on July 6, 1948.

Over the past 78 years, the charity has supported hundreds of thousands of people at the end of life, providing care, comfort, dignity and support to patients and their families.

Marie Curie also delivers palliative care, conducts research, and campaigns for improved end-of-life services across the UK.
