A NEW cafe which will support the Fire Fighters Charity will open at the end of the month.

The Stable Cafe in Harcombe House near Chudleigh will open Monday to Friday, 10am-5pm.

A century-old rustic barn at Harcombe House has been converted to create the café, which can seat up to 60 people in its plush interior and picturesque veranda.

Speaking ahead of the cafe’s launch, the Fire Fighters Charity’s head of estates and facilities, Richard Jenkins said: ‘We’re delighted to open the doors of The Stables Café and to welcome our first customers on October 31.

‘We’ve got a great menu – with a Halloween treat or two – and a really lovely environment for people to relax in. What makes us different of course is that, with every coffee and slice of cake they buy, our customers will be making a life-changing difference to fire service personnel from Devon and across the UK.

So, on their behalf, I look forward to welcoming everyone to Harcombe House and The Stables Café.’

The charity supports serving and retired fire and rescue service personnel, their dependants and other eligible members of the UK fire services community.

Delivering specialist health and wellbeing information and support to enable a healthier and happier UK fire services community, it blends innovative digital services with face-to-face and community-based programmes, to offer each of its beneficiaries tailored support to meet their individual need.

The Fire Fighters Charity is also looking for volunteers to help at The Stables Cafe.
