A BIKER has been air lifted to hospital following an accident in Newton Abbot this afternoon.
The Torquay Road collision, involving a motorcycle and a car, is thought to have occurred at around 5pm.
Torquay Road is closed from Penn Inn towards the town centre.
An eyewitness told the Mid-Devon Advertiser that they saw a bike go into the back of a car, describing it as a ‘bad crash’.
The Devon Air Ambulance landed in nearby Courtenay Park.
The extent of the injuries sustained is not yet known.
