More than 800 people had a closer look at electric cars in Newton Abbot at the town’s first electric vehicle roadshow.
Eleven drivers brought their cars to the Clock Tower to showcase the benefits of greener travel.
The event, organised by Action on Climate in Teignbridge, was part of a national campaign the Great Big Green Week.
Emma Fancett, of Chargeworks electric vehicle consultancy which helped organise the roadshow, said: ‘It was wonderful and we met so many engaging people.
‘There was a huge amount of interest and the drivers were happy to answer a range of questions.
‘It proved a good way to prompt people to come and have a look.’
There was some questions about the initial cost of the cars.
But Emma said there options such as buying a second hand vehicle or leasing which can also have tax benefits.
She explained: ‘I focused on putting the cost per month rather than the list price of the cars.
‘I was really pleased with how it went.’
