The Alice Cross Centre has a new manager.

As The Alice Cross Centre says goodbye to their manager of 12 years, Julia Street, it welcomes Jackie O’Brien as the new general manager.

‘Julia has dedicated herself to developing the Alice Cross into the amazing community space it now is,’ said trustee, Andy Longford.

‘We want to thank her and wish her all the very best of luck in her new appointment.’

Jackie has most recently worked at The Body Camp as their business manager and was assistant director of Manchester Care and Repair, a charity for supporting older people to remain independent at home.

‘I am passionate about health and wellness and am excited about continuing Julia’s good work and Alice Cross’s legacy to make the centre a welcoming place to meet and enjoy our activities and events,’ says Jackie.

‘Our vision to make us the community centre of choice for improved health and well-being for all will be at the heart of everything I do.’

One of Jackie’s initial jobs was to accept a charity donation for £1,250 from Richard Palmer, the Seniors Captain from Teignmouth Golf Club Seniors Section who wanted to support a local charity and felt aligned with the values of The Alice Cross Centre.

‘This was a lovely start to my first week and we are very grateful for this local support which will go a long way to helping us continue our community work,’ said Jackie.
