Can you make a pudding fit for a Queen? If so, why not take part in the Bovey Parish Jubilee Pudding event.  

This sweet occasion takes place on Saturday, June 4 at 11.30 at the Riverside Community Centre in Bovey where entries will be judged by Judi Spiers. the presentation will be made .

Spkesperson Stella West Harling said: ‘Entries are invited from aspiring cooks 16 years and over who will be creating at  home a Jubilee pudding.

‘It can be made in any way – from a baked pudding to an exotic gateau.

‘All around the UK, the villages and towns are cooking their puddings and Bovey Parish  is agog with recipe ideas!

‘Only 70 entries will be  chosen and entry forms are available in the Community Centre from Friday, May 13.

‘The pudding must be made from simple ingredients – and they will be taken home after the judging.’

The first prize is a one-day cookery voucher for the Ashburton Cookery School  and the runner-up will receive £50.
