HENNOCK PTFA (Parent, Teachers and Friends Association) were thrilled to host the first barn dance since pre-covid (2019).

The event held at Harvey’s Barn in Hennock (Beechleigh Farm) was attended by more than 400 people who danced the night away to music by local ceilidh band Spinach for Norman.

Alison Wonnacott, PTFA secretary, said: ‘We were blown away by the success of the event and never expected so many locals to join us. It was a great atmosphere and a perfect night of fun, laughter, dance and games for the children. The band was so amazed to see people of all ages up dancing together.’

‘A special mention goes out to the Hennock PTFA crew, the Harvey family for the venue and volunteers from the school and community alike; who manned the door, cooked local bbq meats, served at the bar and hosted the grand draw including many local business donations. Without such an awesome team and community spirit, these events simply would not run.’

The proceeds from the night are still being calculated, but will go directly to Hennock Community Primary School where the education and experiences of local children are enriched and supported by the PTFA’s hard work.

The next fundraising event will be a wreath making workshop in Hennock, at the end of November. For more details, visit: https://www.pta-events.co.uk/hennock
