A WOMAN pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision with a Honda motorcycle on the A379 at Teignmouth yesterday evening, Wednesday.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The Myrtle Hill area of the road near the railway was shut until the early hours of this morning, Thursday, while emergency services dealt with the accident.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a Honda motorcycle and a pedestrian on Exeter Road, Teignmouth, near the junction with Higher Brook Street, at around 8.25pm.

‘As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries. Her next of kin have been informed and are with her.

‘The motorcycle rider was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

‘Road closures were put in place while officers from the Roads Policing Team attended to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.

‘The road was reopened at around 1.30am.

‘Officers would particularly like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicle and/or the pedestrian prior to the collision.
