A TOURIST has denied breaking into three homes in Dawlish or Teignmouth during a visit to South Devon last year.

Ian Nash, aged 52, of North Wales, denied three counts of burglary when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court.

He is alleged to have burgled homes at Underwood Close, and Summerland Avenue, Dawlish, and Boyds Drive, Teignmouth, between September 19 and 23, 2020.

He is alleged to have stolen jewellery during one raid and to have left a face mask with his DNA at or near one of the houses.

He says he was in Devon visiting his daughter and did not carry out any of the offences.

Judge David Evans adjourned his case for a jury trial at Exeter on March 7, 2022, and released him on bail.
