POLICE in Teignmouth and Dawlish are on the hunt for riders of electric bikes following reports they are being ridding in an anti-social way.

Officers say they have seen first-hand such behaviour but been unable to catch the culprits.

A police spokesman said: ‘We have received a few reports of these bikes driving in an anti-social manner and have observed it first hand, without being able to catch them.’

Officers are appealing for help to identify anyone riding electric motocross bikes.

Any electric bike with a power output of over 250 watts, that is propelled without pedalling, is classed as a motorcycle.

It needs to be registered and the riders need a licence.

Anyone with dash cam footage of these bikes, either recent incidents or any in the future, is asked to contact police with the details.
