A PERSON was trapped in their vehicle after a crash in Dawlish this afternoon (Thursday).

Fire control received a report from police of a two vehicle collision with one person still trapped within their vehicle shortly before 3pm.

Three appliances from Teignmouth and Middlemoor along with the Heavy Rescue Vehicle from Middlemoor were sent due to reports the car was on its side.

A Fire Control Spokesperson said: ‘Once on scene crews confirmed an RTC involving two vehicles with one casualty still within the vehicle. 

‘Crews got to work using stabilisation equipment and small tools to extricate the casualty from the car.

‘Crews used: one hose reel jet; stabilisation equipment; small tools, a Makita saw.

‘Once the casualty had been successfully extricated from the vehicle they were left in the hands of paramedics on scene.’
