AN angler struggling against a strong tide off Teignmouth was helped ashore by volunteer lifeboat crew on yesterday evening (Wednesday).
The crew received a call to launch at 10.40pm following a report of an angler aboard a dinghy who was struggling to return to shore against a strong tide.
An RNLI spokesperson said: ‘The crew were quickly on scene in the mouth of the river at Teignmouth and they escorted the person and dinghy into port.
‘A fisherman had waded out to help the person and safely made their own way back to shore.
‘The crew returned to station and were ready for service by 11.30pm.’
