Ruben Cullen appeared before Exeter magistrates court to plead guilty to assaulting a policeman and dangerous driving.
Cullen, aged 23, of Strand Hill, Dawlish, also admitted drink-driving, failing to stop for a uniformed constable, and having no insurance or a licence.
The court heard Cullen was one and a half times the drive drive limit one day last month when he carried out a ’prolonged incident of bad driving following a road rage incident’.
Police tracked him down in his Vauxhall Astra car as he sped through residential areas in Exeter, said prosecutor Lyndsey Baker.
He struck and damaged police cars which pursued and tried to stop his vehicle and he hit a policeman’s leg with his car door leaving him with a minor wound.
Cullen tried to run off from the scene in Hill Barton Road, Exeter, but was later caught and arrested.
The magistrates said the case will be sentenced by a judge at the city’s Crown Court next month.
Cullen was bailed and also given an interim driving ban.
