The Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team Ashburton present ‘red jackets’ to two more trainees who have completed their training with the team, and now become full team members.

A spokesperson to DSRT said: ‘Congratulations to Simon Reed and Steve Webb in joining the team.’

Simon and Steve are joining the team called in to help people in difficulties on the moors.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton provides a professionally trained resource for a full range of incidents, including missing person inquiries, steep ground rescue, swift-water rescues and flooding, across Dartmoor National Park, Devon and the south west, and to major incidents across England and Wales.

They dealt with 39 incidents on 40 callouts last year and so far this year have dealt with four incidents with four callouts and two ‘standbys’.
