A CAR caught fire near the reservoir at Bovey Tracey yesterday evening (Sunday).

The fire was confined to the engine compartment shortly before 4.30pm.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘Crews were mobilised following a call to Fire Control about a car on fire near to the reservoir.

‘Upon arrival crews confirmed that the fire was confined to the engine compartment.’

The local Bovey Tracey Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

‘Crews left the vehicle with the owners to organise recovery and confirmed that the fire was accidental.’
