A NEWTON Abbot man has denied abusing two young girls over an 11 year period in the 2000s and 2010s.

Liam Soper-James, aged 26, of Woodleigh Road, pleaded not guilty to 18 offences when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court.

He denied attempted rape, three counts of sexual assault, two of inciting a child to take part in sexual activity and five of sexual assault on the first complainant when she was aged between six and 13.

He also denied five sexual assaults and two offences of inciting a child to sexual activity in relation to the second complainant when she was aged eight to 13.

Judge Peter Johnson adjourned the case for a trial at Exeter Crown Court and released Soper-James on bail.
