MONDAY marked the start of a week-long intensification period aimed at raising awareness of knife crime and supporting police action in detecting, reducing and preventing knife crime.

‘You may notice your local officers out and about promoting this, please feel free to come up and speak to us if you have any questions’ a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said.

As part of Operation Spectre, police are reminding people that are a number of things they can do if they are worried about knife crime.

Report someone who is carrying a knife anonymously using the Fearless Website at https://orlo.uk/wR6jF or to your local police force.

And to report an area where you feel unsafe online at https://orlo.uk/rYZu8

‘Help us stop knife crime for good’ the spokesperson added.
