NEWTON Abbot’s branch of a national weight loss organisation recently welcomed the Slimming World Woman of the Year.

The Bradley Community Centre played host to Alison Ridgeley, who is the current National Slimming World Woman of the Year.

Alison lost 13 stone on her weight-loss journey.

Slimming World Consultant Julie Scoines, who runs the Newton Abbot groups, said: I was super chuffed that Alison was able to come along to meet my members as I had been so inspired by her when I met her last November when she won her award in Birmingham’.

During Alison’s visit, a raffle was held by members, with an incredible £176.00 raised for the local Cancer Research UK shop in Queen Street.
